As we are just about to enter the new year and all things 2019 we look back over a glorious 2018. It was a slow start to 2018 but that gave plenty of time to get the props, vases and all of the other flower parafenalia into order before the rush began.
The most memorable wedding I would imagine of all time was Eshott Hal when the beast from the east was here. We were caught in a white out and had to be towed out of a snow drift, at one point we had three wheels off the ground. We got there in the end as the saying goes the ‘show must go on’. What a day!
The choice of flowers is extensive and as ever we are looking to be as eco friendly as possible. Most of our designs this year have not contained any floral foam and hopefully we can continue with that into 2019. It’s a much more natural way to arrange your flowers. The blush and grey tones have been all around us this year and going forward to next year too, some little hints of coral and peach too, beautiful. Lots of Eucalyptus and Olive leaf too.
We have been up into Scotland this year demonstrating flower arranging to some of the flower clubs, that is always exciting and a little shopping thrown in too along the way.
We have been to many beautiful venues in the North East of England this year all with their own unique style, they all offer something different from views, to location, service and guest experience.
Here in Northumberland we have it all, if it’s a Tipi and a 12th century priory on your wish list then look no further than Brinkburn Priory set on a tranquil bend of the river Coquet, stay in their beautiful cottages and make a weekend of it. If your style is quirky then take a look at the all new Charlton Hall and the star lit reception room. Maybe you prefer a barn then Doxford Barns has all you need, an old threshing hall for the ceremony, lake side pictures and if you want a vintage tractor in the background I know a lady who has one. If you fancy a country house hotel there is the beautiful Eshott Hall with plenty of cottages on site for visiting family members, set in beautiful grounds and a choice of outdoor ceremony spaces. Linden Hall complete with spa and 18 hole golf course, set among woodland and manicured lawns or Horton Grange small and intimate with a beautiful outdoor space. We visited Holiday Inn at Seaton Burn this year with its huge function room, newly refurbished reception area, lots of bedrooms and a spa and just on the edge of the A1 perfect for those city slickers among you.
This year we also worked with a celebrant instead of a registrar for one of our couples. They chose Charlotte Pennefather (www.cpcelebrant.co.uk) to write and perform a very personal ceremony for their big day, it’s all about the little details that help to create a life time of memories. A special way to start your life together and the ceremony can be anywhere you desire. Just let your imagination take over.
So here we go into a new chapter and into 2019 helping to create special memories and magical moments with our floral styling, using lots of prettiness and scent, looking forward to meeting lots of new couples and visiting new places.
